SALLY WILDMAN, a member of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, has represented adopting parents since 1985. Ms. Wildman was Chair of the American Bar Association Adoption Committee from August 1991 to August 1992. During that time, she initiated a resolution urging Congress to improve benefits for adoptive families. One part of that resolution, a tax credit for adoption expenses, is now available to many families. Currently, Ms. Wildman represents adult adoptees who search for biological family.
In March, 2001 Ms. Wildman co-sponsored with Loyola University School of Law, Child Law Center, Chicago, Illinois the first Chicago Adoption Dialogue Forum , which brought together faculty from area universities who study the impact of adoption policies and practices.
Ms. Wildman frequently speaks on legal aspects of adoption to Chicago area adoptive family support groups. Also, she offers classes on the adoption process through adult education programs. See Ms. Wildman's latest newsletter for a class schedule.
